Guidance Rooted in Tradition. Restoring Sacred Birth

How We Restore the Village in Birth and Postpartum Care
Becoming a parent—or welcoming another baby into your tribe—is one of life’s most soul-shifting transitions. At The Village Birthworker, we believe that this time deserves more than just support—it calls for reverence.

This isn’t just care—it’s community-rooted, body-honoring, culturally grounded guidance that uplifts your intuition, your power, and your ancestral knowing.

We walk beside you through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and lactation with compassion, practical tools, and deep respect for your body’s wisdom. Our model blends ancestral traditions with evidence-based care to nurture your well-being at every stage of the journey.

🌿 Here’s How We Care for You:

Conception & Fertility Support
You are not alone at the start of this path. We offer herbal wellness, emotional grounding, and intuitive planning guidance—whether you’re conceiving naturally or navigating fertility challenges.

Prenatal Support
From nutritional coaching and childbirth education to comfort techniques and breastfeeding preparation, our prenatal guidance centers your body, mind, and voice.

Labor & Birth Support
During labor, we offer steady presence, non-clinical advocacy, and sacred birthing practices that honor your rhythm, safety, and vision. We serve your family as witnesses, protectors, and nurturers of this threshold.

Postpartum Support
We help restore balance after birth with in-home support, postpartum check-ins, sibling care, traditional nourishment, and practical help—so your healing isn’t rushed, but honored.

Lactation Support
As a trained lactation specialist, we provide personalized support for infant feeding and chest/breastfeeding—whether you’re navigating latch, milk supply, or simply need affirmation and clarity.

We don’t believe in “empowering” you—because you already carry deep power. Our role is to witness it, protect it, and hold space for you to trust it fully.

The Village Birthworker: Rabiyah Amina

Meet the passionate full-spectrum village birthworker dedicated to guiding families through trying to conceive, pregnancy, and postpartum.

Rabiyah Amina

Full-Spectrum Birthworker

Rabiyah is a social scientist who is a full-spectrum birthworker, herbalist farmer, and lactation specialist devoted to restoring village-centered birth and postpartum care.
She is committed to guiding you and your family through the sacred journey of birth—from the early stages of pregnancy through labor, and into the tender weeks of postpartum with traditional and evidence-based practices. Her role is to ensure you feel seen, resourced, and held throughout this transformative time.

Through The Village Birthworker, she offers holistic, non-clinical care grounded in ancestral wisdom and cultural relevance. From conception to postpartum, her work honors the whole body and the whole family—supporting informed choices, sacred transitions, and self-trust with presence and intention. She proudly serves families throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia.

But her care doesn’t stop at the birth space.
She believes true healing comes from nurturing the whole self—body, mind, and culture. That’s why her offerings also include essential self-care accessories crafted to uplift and fortify her community.

Through Rab’s Roots, her herbal blends are grown with care on her family farmstead in Hampton Roads, offering traditional plant-based remedies for the whole village. And through The Crown Boutique™, Wrapped by Rab, she handcrafts culturally rooted headwraps and headbands—called Crowns—with deep reverence. These adornments are more than style; they are symbols of heritage, protection, and resilience, honoring both women and men.

In partnership with the soil, Rabiyah nurtures medicine—never claiming ownership, but standing in humble relationship with the Earth and its offerings. Every herb, every wrap, every gesture is rooted in care, crafted in tradition, and offered in love.
