Meet the passionate full-spectrum village birthworker dedicated to guiding families through trying to conceive, pregnancy, and postpartum.
I am Rabiyah, a social scientist who is a full-spectrum birth companion & learning midwife. I instinctively wear many hats as an herbalist, herbal farmer, and lactation specialist and I am devoted to restoring village-centered birth and postpartum care.
I am committed to guiding you and your family through the sacred journey of birth—from the early stages of pregnancy through labor, and into the tender weeks of postpartum with traditional and evidence-based practices. I strive to ensure you feel seen, resourced, and held throughout this transformative time.
Through The Village Birthworker, I offer holistic, non-clinical care grounded in ancestral wisdom and cultural relevance. From conception to postpartum, my work honors the whole body and the whole family—supporting informed choices, sacred transitions, and self-trust with presence and intention. I proudly serve families throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia.
I support families with Due dates in September through March.
But care doesn’t stop at the birth space.
I believe true healing comes from nurturing the whole self—body, mind, and culture and my offerings also include essential self-care accessories crafted to uplift and fortify our community.
Through Rab’s Roots, these herbal blends are crafted from herbs grown with care on the family farmstead in Hampton Roads, offering traditional plant-based remedies for the whole village. And through The Crown Boutique™, Wrapped by Rab, I handcraft culturally rooted headwraps and headbands—which I affectionately call Crowns—with deep reverence. These adornments are more than style; they are symbols of heritage, protection, and resilience, honoring both women and men.
In partnership with the soil, I nurture medicine—never claiming ownership, but standing in humble relationship with the Earth and its offerings. Every herb, every wrap, every gesture is rooted in care, crafted in tradition, and offered in love.
